Confederation
When the state or region governments have more power than the national governments.

When the national and state governments share power
Autocratic
When one single ruler,dictator,has unlimited power
Oligarchic
When only a few people are able to vote because of their wealth.
Democratic
All citizens get to participate in government by voting.
Parliamentary democracy
Most common democracy. Citizens are not able to vote directly from the head government ,but may vote for members of parliament.

Legislature or law-making body.
Presidential democracy
Citizens are able to vote directly for the head of government
Prime minister
The person with the real power in a parliamentary democracy.
Monarch
King or queen- only has ceremonial power
Legislature
the law- making body of a country.
Constitutional monarchy
When a constitution is in a place making rules and laws.
President
Severs as a head of government and head of state in a presidential democracy.
Chancellor
Serves as the head of government in Germany.he represents the position similar to the prime minister of the United Kingdom.
Unitary
When the national or central government has power over all other levels of government.
