Agreement to help protect each other if a country was attacked.

This event took place during WWII when the czar of Russia was overthrown and killed by the Russian people.
Treaty of Versailles
Document that ended ww1 it placed the blame on Germany for the entire war.
Adolf Hitler
Leader of Nazi Germany after WWII. He was responsible for the Holocaust and the beginning of WWII. He promised to restore Germany back to former glory.
Great Depression
Time of economic hardships in America after WWII that affected the entire world.
Nazism
Political and economic party of Germany put into place during hitters rule.
Holocaust
Event that took place during world war 2 that led to the murder of over 6 million Jews.
Communism
Government that has a single ruler and government controls all aspects.
Cold War
A time of treat of nuclear war between democratic United States and communist Soviet Union. Both countries wanted to spread their political beliefs. Ended in 1991 when the Soviet Union collapsed.
North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)
During the Cold War, it was an alliance between the US and democratic western Europe. They agreed to fight together if attacked by the Warsaw Pact alliance.
Warsaw Pact
During the Cold War, it was an alliance between the Soviet Union and communist Eastern Europe. They agreed to fight together if attacked by the NATO alliance.
Berlin Wall
Wall built in Berlin. Germany by the Soviet Union to separate western democratic Europe from eastern communist Europe.
Marshall Plan
A thirteen billion dollar aid package given to Europe by the US after WWII.
Reparations
Paying for damages from war. (Germany had to do this because of WWII:$33 billion)
