Grace definition
a sharing in the life of God
Define 3 types of Grace, explain “what” each type is & give specific examples of each
- sanctifying grace - restores us to spiritual life/ repairs relationship with God
- actual grace - growing in our relationship with God
- charismatic grace - tools/gofts used to grow in our relationship with god
Why is Grace important? – necessary for heaven
Grace is necessary for salvation
What is evil – definition; explain what it’s not
evil is the absence of god
sin is the corruption of good
Difference between moral and physical evil and their origins
physical evil - physical suffering /death
moral evil - sin, concupiscence, spiritual suffering
Why does suffering exist?
evil and suffering are the result of sin. it is free will to chose and to reject God which brought evil/suffering into the world. Suffering is an indiction that things are not the way they were meant to be
What is the “problem of evil”?

Why does God allow free will & so evil?
because only free will allows for the possibility of love. free will implies being able to choose evil. love desires the good of the other without seeking personal gain.
Mortal sin vs. venial sin
venial sin injures our relationship with god while mortal sin destroys our relationship with God.
