Atonement
“at-one-ment” - Christ’s atoning work restores our “at one” relationship with God
Christus Victor
atonement model focused on Christ’s cosmic triumph over sin and death
Imputed righteousness
God imputes Christ’s righteousness to us. It is credited to us so we are seen as righteous.
Justification
God’s work in forgiving us sinners and making us right with God.
Monergistic
Literally: working alone, this term refers to God as the only actor in salvation
Prevenient Grace
A gift of grace from God that comes before us, preceding anything we do.
Repentance
turning away from sin and toward God
Sanctification
a gift of grace from God. God’s work in making us godly, holy, and like Christ.
Satisfaction
atonement model focused on Christ’s taking our place to pay the price of sin
Soteriology
the doctrine of treating matters of salvation
Synergistic
Literally: working together, this terms refers to God working together with human beings in the process of salvation.

acting as though God’s purposes have, in fact, been fully accomplished in the present, thereby forfeiting future hope and discounting the fullness of the kingdom which has not yet been revealed

the distinctive and definitive Christian belief concerning the afterlife that humans will be transformed as whole persons, body and soul together
