Judaism
Founded by Abraham. Jerusalem is known as the holy land that was under control of military rules. Jesus was Jewish. Moses is a proper. Holy boom is the Torah. They believed Jesus was a prophet, not the messiah.God is called Yahweh.
Christianity
Founded by Jesus. God is called God. Spread in the Roman Empire. Holy book is the Bible. Believe God sent Jesus ad both a prophet and the messiah.
Islam
Came in the middle of the seventh century. Muhammad was the founder and prophet. Muhammad grew up in Mecca. Mecca and Medina became their holy sites. Holy book is the Quarantine. God is Allah.

Believes Jesus to be a prophet. Used the Bible for sacred text.

Jesus is the prophet. Jesus and messiah. Dietary restrictions.

Believed that Gabriel was sent by God. Believe in the same God. Started in Europe in the Middle East.

Hajj
Pilgrimage made to Mecca by Mansa Musa.

Famous for his Hajj, and the richest man ever known.
Positives of the Hajj
It gained Mali closer ties with the Islamic world, and increased trade between Mali and the Muslim empire. Gained great wealth for the kingdom.
Negatives of the Hajj
It started the slave trade. It caused many downfalls as he overspent which affected them for years.
Kingdom of Mali
They established trade routes used for centuries. They converted to Islam, and blended with African traditions and beliefs.
Kingdom of Ghana
Extremely rich. Their greatness was because of organization, control of trade and commerce, and a strong military force.
Kingdom of Songhai
Started as a fishing community. Their government was organized, and had a well trained army. Became one of the largest kingdoms in West Africa. Controlled gold to the south and salt to the north. Over 2,000 miles. Trading books.
Fall of African city-states
Moroccan Invasion. Africans were taken to America. Their important things were taken with the enslaved. Africans were scattered.
Black Plague Symptoms
Swelling of cysts in armpit, groin, (boils), filled with blood and pus, Fever, Diarrhea, Chills, aches/pains, Vomiting, Death, Started in the lymphatic system, Spread to the circulatory system and respiratory
Black Plague Causes for the Spread
Touching of clothes or human contact, Spread very quickly and symptoms set in quickly, Trade and movement around the world at the time, Unsanitary conditions (rats, garbage, no cleaning their bodies), Doctors overwhelmed/no knowledge-too many people getting sick and did dangerous procedures
Black Plague Treatments
crude /unsophisticated techniques, Bloodletting- letting the blood flow out until it is pure
Superstitious practices (aromas and bathing in rosewater and vinegar herbs)- They thought it spread through spirits of the dead, Boil lancing- causes infection, Also affected animals (led to shortages)
Where did the Black Plague Start an Hit the Hardest
It began in China and hit the hardest in Europe.
Impact of the Black Plague
It killed off millions of people, and gave us education about cleanliness and more.
