An if and only if statement. To prove a bioconditional statement, you have to prove both directions of the statement are true.

Example: “Two nonvertical lines are parallel if and only if they have the same slope.”

you need to prove it 2 ways:
1. Given the lines are parallel they have the same slope AND
2. Given the lines have the same slope the are parallel.
