What is a convergent plate boundary?
They go towards each other / Facing each other.
What is a divergent plate boundary?
They go apart from each other / Opposite way from each other.
What is a transform plate boundary?
They go opposite from each other and parallel.
What is an Igneous rock?
A rock that forms when magma or lava cools. The location will determine the rate of the cooling.
What is a Sedimentary rock?
A bunch of loose sediments becoming tightly packed from drying or the weight of more layers over millions of years.
What is a Metamorphic rock?
Rocks exposed to high temperatures or pressures that can be changed physically or chemically to form a different rock.
What is weathering?
The breaking down of rocks using the weather.
What is erosion?
The moving of broken down rocks.
What is deposition?
The build up of broken rocks in new environments or areas.
Glaciers
They are formed by an accumulation of snow over a long period of time. As snow accumulates, the already fallen snow gets compressed, making glaciers.
Glaciation
The process of ice advancing and covering large areas of land.
Cenozoic
This is the human life that we know of today. Both the earliest ages of human life and today are both in this era. This era is when the first ice age began 1 million years ago. The last ice age ended around 10000 years ago. This era started 65 million years ago and is still ongoing.
Mesozoic
This is when the first part of mammals and birds appear. Flowers also appear now. This is the time when dinosaurs existed. This era lasted from 245 million years to 65 million years ago.
Paleozoic
A period in time when insects first appeared. This era lasted from 544 million years to 245 million years.
Precambrian
The oldest period in history. This period of time is when the oldest rocks were created. This era lasted from 4.6 billion years ago to 544 million years ago.
