Unit 2 Stator Cooling Water Flashcards
How do you adjust stator water temperature?
Adjust TACW To Stator water HX.
Adjust Circ. Water to TACW HX.
Explain the relationship between stator water, generator inlet temperature and cold gas temperature.
We maintain stator water 3-5*warmer than generator hydrogen cold gas temperature, to keep condensation from forming on the Teflon tubes and the stator bars.
What does stator water cool?
Output bushings and stator bars.
What cools stator water?
TACW.
Why do we keep a trickle flow through the standby deionizer?
To keep water fresh.
What is the makeup for stator water?
Normal supply from DI water.
Backup supply from hot well pump discharge.
All makeup goes through the deionizers.
What auto starts standby stator water pump?
Lo discharge pressure on the running pump of 55#.
Lo discharge flow on the running pump of 845gpm.
What do we pressurize the stator water tank with?
Hydrogen.
If you have a tube leak in the stator cooling water heat exchanger, what would leak into what?
TACW would leak into stator water?
Describe Stator cooling water flow path.
Tank. One of two pumps. One of two heat exchangers. One of two filters. One of two strainers. To the stator. 10% of the return flow goes to the deionizers which has a strainers on the outlet. Back to tank.
