Unit 1 Stator Cooling Water Flashcards
What is the stator cooling water pump auto start?
130psig and lowering at the discharge of the running pump.
What are the auto trips of the turbine with regards to the stator cooling water system?
low pressure 36psig.
Low Flow 499gpm.
Hi temperature 81deg. C.
After 10sec. the turbine trips and the Generator trips 20sec. later.
What are the make up sources for the stator cooling water system?
Demin water. and condensate water. ALL MAKE UP WATER GOES THROUGH THE DEMINS.
Why do we keep a trickle flow through the Demin that is not in service
To keep the water from getting stagnant.
What is the pressure of stator cooling water in Unit 1 compared to machine gas pressure?
3# lower. You don’t want water in the generator.
How does Hydrogen get into stator cooling water?
It migrates through the Teflon tubes.
What is the purpose of the stator cooling water tank?
Provides the Net Positive Suction Head for the Stator cooling water pumps. and accommodates any surge volume.
What temp do we keep Stator Cooling Water with regards to machine gas pressure?
3 to 5 degrees warmer.
CRV-640 has an upper block and a lower block. what are they and why?
Upper 44# to protect from over pressurizing the stator.
Lower 22# so you don’t form any steam bubbles.
What is the manual trip of the turbine with regards to the stator cooling water system?
High conductivity @ 18 umhos
What do you have to do to stator cooling water when we are shut down and we go on back feed?
Bypass the stator cooling water turbine trips.
Why do we have Teflon tubes?
To insulate the piping from the Stator.
