Public sector:
< These organisations are financed and directly managed by the government.
< E.g: NHS foundation trust, GP practices, Adult/Children services.
Voluntary sector:
< These organisations are usually made up of charities.
< E.g: Samaritans, oxfam, British red cross, shelter.
< These charities provide services for NHS/Adult and children service.
< Not for personal profit, income is used to develop services.
Private sector:
< Managed by commercial companies, which run independently.
< They need to make profit in order to stay in business.
< They provide for: private schools/ hospitals/ residential and nursing homes/ domiciliary care/mental health services.

Tertiary health care:
< Highly specialised services, with only a few settings of them available in the whole country.

Hospitals:
< Pediatric-children/Cardiology-heart/ radiology-xrays/ oncology-cancer.
< Patients are able to receive treatments by specialised staff and equipment.
< Provide emergency care via A&E.
Residential care homes:
< For people who are unable to look after themselves or do not have family members to look after them.
< Offer aid with personal care, provide support for those with physical and learning disabilities as well as mental health issues.
< It may be children/adults/Addicts.
Domiciliary care:
< Provide care and support for people within their own homes.
< Support with daily tasks/personal needs. Make adaptations to your homes. Arranging transport.

CQC:
< Independent regulator of H+SC in england.
< They monitor, inspect, and rate services/ take action to protect service users/ independent voice by publishing quality issues for others to see.

< They then use all the evidence they have gathered, reach judgements and produce a report.
OFSTED:
< Regulate/inspect educational settings and children services.

What does it mean for H+SC workers to undertake CPD?
