Does the use of the term civilized suggest any racist or ethnic bias? Why or why not?
It could because some people are offended when they are not called civilized. Some places are also more civilized than others too. Whites thought they were more civilized than the African Americans
What are some issues we encounter if we try to use civilization as a organizing principle in world history?
Problem is that we don’t really know how to define it so we can’t really organize things with it
Has civilization progressed from the earliest times to today? Do we have a higher level of civilized behavior?
I think so because we have established more laws and we have become more orderly and advanced. I don’t necessarily think that our behavior has because we have always been the way that we are etc..
