A

In this Order:
Self Actualisation - reaching ones potential like putting in the extra amount of workwithout being told

Esteem Needs - Respect for Others, recognitions for a Job well done

Social Needs - freindship, being accepted into a group

Safety Needs - Health and Safety at work, Job free from threats (fire alarms, sign in sign out)

Phusical Needs - Water, Food, Shelter

A

A

A

Taylor believed that all employees are motivated by money so to get employees to increase their efforts, they have to be rewarded with more money

A

Hourly Wage Rate - payment to workers based on a fixed amount of time

Salary- fixed annual payment to staff not based on hours worked or output

Piece Rate - payment to workers based on number of units produced

Performance related pay - payment to sales staff based on value of items they sell

Commision - an additional reward paid to workers for achieving targets set by managers

Bonus - a bonus scheme used to reward staff for performing to the required standard

Fringe benifits - non-cash rewards often used to recruit or retain workers and to recognise the status of certain employees

Profit Sharing - an additional payment to workers based on profits of the business

A

Delegation - increasing the variety in the workplace by allowing workers to switch from one task to another

Job Enlargement - increasing or widening tasks to increase variety for workers

Job Enrichment - organising work so that workers are encouraged to use their full abilities

Job Satisfaction - how happy and content a person is with their job

Quality circles - groups of workers who meet regularly to discuss work related problems

Team working - organising production so that groups of workers complete the whole unit of work

Job Rotation - passing responsibility to perform tasks to workers lower down the organisation

A

A

a list of candidates who are chosen from all of the applicants to be interviewed for the Job

What is Induction Training and what are the advantages / disadvantages?

A

A training programe to help new recruitants become familliar with their workplace, the people they work with and the procedures they need to follow
Advantage: Slides the employee’s into the process of the Job so that they are not confused on the first day
Disadvantage: Cost without adding to output, even if your induction takes 4 hours they are still paying you for that time. Business loses money.

On the Job - Training at the place of work, watching or following an experienced employee
Advantage: A layout of how the employee should act
Disadvantage: May distract or not allow other employee’s to work

A

A

Using the Spoken Word.
It allows two way communication (the reciever can respond to the sender)
Oral Communication is best used when something needs to be discussed between two or more people, not a large group
No personal record
Reciever might not have heard the message correctly and cant look back at it

A

Written forms of communication can provide a perminant record of.a message and can be looked at more than once to check understanding.
Feedback is Slower
Time consuming for both sender and rciever

A

Electronic Commmunciation through email and messages can be much faster and the message can be recieved instantly. This can also be sent to many people at once at ease
Not everyone has acess to the equipment needed

A

Visual communicwtion may be used when trying to explain difficult concepts through pictures, graphs and charts
Can simplify complex data so it is easier to understand
Different recievers might interprit the information differently
