Codependency
Cluster is behaviors and psychological characteristics of over dependence on meeting the needs of others.
Dependency
At this stage, a person has lost the ability to choose to use or not to use.
Addiction
The persistent, compulsive dependence on or use of a substance or behaviour despite its negative consequences and the increasing frequency of those consequences.
Withdrawal
Physiological and mental readjustment that accomplices a addictive substance.
Causes physiological changes as the blood and tissue concentrations of a drug decreases after heavy and prolonged use of a substance.
Tolerance
A physiological experience that occurs when a person’s reaction to a substance decreases with repeated use.
Intoxication
Physical or mental state of exhilaration or emotional frequency, or lethargy and stupor.
Physical Dependence
Appearance of cognitive behavioral and physiological symptoms that occur when the drug has not been used for a given time. (I.e.) high BP
Psychological Dependence
This occurs when an individual feels they should use a substance in certain situation or to perform well. You will see emotion withdrawal from this dependence.
Concurrent Disorder
This is a combination of both substance and mental health issues.
