What does commitment mean?
A sense of dedication and obligation for someone/something
What does chastity mean?
Not having sexual intercourse until after marriage
What does Love mean?
To have a deep affection for someone and express it through your actions and words
What is responsibility mean?
Actions you are expected to carry out
What is Procreation?
The Christian idea that sex should be used only to produce children
What is Sacrament?
An outward visible sign of an inner blessing from God.
What does reconciliation mean?
Saying sorry and having it accepted. All religions teach the importance of forgiveness.
What does fidelity mean?
Keeping yourself sexually loyal to your partner
What does conflict mean?
Working against each other rather than in unity
What does celibate mean?
Deciding never to have a sexual relationship
What does contraception mean?
Deliberate prevention of pregnancy by natural or artificial methods
What does adultery mean?
Having a sexual relationship with someone who is not your husband or wife
What are Christian views on divorce?
Anglicans accept it because its the law but they discourage re-marriage
Methodists try to avoid it but it depends on the situation
Catholics don’t recognise it and marriage is a sacrament
What are hindu views on divorce?
Its a last resort, its uncommon because arranged marriages last, lower castes allow it, extended couples have to help reconcile the couple
What happens in a Christian wedding?
-vows (promises made by the couples to each other and before god)
-Exchange rings ( everlasting bond between them)
- sermon presents importance of marriage
