What is media?
Media are the means of communication, such as Internet, TV, Radio, Magazines, Newspapers
What is text?
Text includes alphabets, numbers and punctuation marks.
What is sound?
Sound includes music, speech or sound effects
What are pictures?
Pictures include photographs, clip art, paintings, graphs, charts and drawings.
What is font?
Font is set of letters and other characters in a particular design.
What is content?
Content is the material that is to be put into a document
What is a slide?
A slide is a prepared document that can be projected on to the screen. A presentation is composed of several slides that are made in software such as PowerPoint. Any text written in the slide is called content.
Give a few features of a good presentation
Any few of the following:
- It is lively and Interesting
- It should always relay a message to the audience
- It has a well-defined purpose and right audience
- The content of each slide is related to the presentation
- Well designed slides (content, font style and colour, colour combinations)
- No grammar and spelling errors
- Speaker has practiced the presentation well
- Special effects (sound, animations) present
Give a few of a bad presentation
- It will be boring and not interesting
- Designing of slides - No proper planning, Font style not maintained, Bad colour combinations of font, text colour and background
- A lot of spelling and grammar errors
- No clear purpose or message
- No special effects
State a few reasons why Network Computers are important
- Resources such as printers and scanners can be shared
- It is easier for data to be backed up
- People can access the same file in the shared area
- Files need to be installed on the server computers only
- User ID and passwords can be used to restrict access to the network
What is a User ID?
A User ID is a unique ID given to each user to identify on the network system
What is a Password?
A Password is a string chosen by a user to check the identity of that user in the network system.
What is the shared area?
The Shaded Area is the part of the network that holds files that everyone on the network can access. Clipart would be stored in the shared area
