Quantitative
-purpose is to test a theory by variables to determine a relationship
-analysis of numbers
-Generalizable to the rest of the population
Qualitative
-purpose to develop a theory by gaining insight about a particular topic
-focused on analysis of stories
-not generalizable only specific to the particular group being studied
