Unicellular and Multicellular Organisms Flashcards
What do Unicellular organisms depend on for life?
Diffusion
Can we see Unicellular organisms without a microscope?
No, they are too small for the naked eye.
What 2 cell types are mostly multicellular?
Animal and Plant
What does having multiple cells allow the organism to do?
To be larger and have cell differentiation.
What happens when they form together?
They form tissues and organs
What are 3 specialised organs?
- Respitory
- Circulatory
- Digestive
What is more efficent, Multicellular or Unicellular and why?
Multicellular organisms are more efficient in its functioning because labour is divided among the cells and have great capacity to survive than unicellular organisms
Prokaryotes?
Organisms that do not have have membrane bound organelles and are only Unicellular.
Eukaryotic?
Organisms that have membrane bound organisms and can be unicellular and multicellular
What does bacteria look like describing?
Round with a tail on the end a fuzzy thing in the middle
what is ectoplasm?
a thin, clear layer of cytoplasm
what is endoplasm?
a mass of cytoplasm with granules in it
what is an Amoeba?
A unicellular animal that lives in ponds. It can be seen using a microscope
What is an example of a unicellular organism?
Bacteria
What is an example of a multicellular organism?
Meeee
