UNEXPECTED SITUATION - Part three Flashcards

1
Q

PRESSURIZATION
FIRE IN THE REAR TOILETS
RECEIVER FAILURE

A

In my opinion, among the three situation;

Broadly speaking
- The easiest event to deal with is receiver failure because you can squawk 7600 and carry on the flight plan.

As far as I know
Pressurization is the worst than receiver failure event to deal with because you can suffer a hypoxia in addition the aircraft can cause a structural damage.

The last but not least, among the three situation the most difficult event is fire in the rear toilets, because according to NTSB you only have 15 minutes to land the aircraft, in order to maintain a safety flight.

In my opinion, among the three situation;

Broadly speaking
- The easiest event to deal with is Bomb on Board because, the pilot have a threat situation however the the pilot needed land as soon as possible

As far as I know
server turbulence is worst than bomb on board event to deal with, because you only need to change the flight level and to prevent this a better flight plan.

The last but not least, among the three situation engine fire is the most difficult event to deal with, it´s a May Day situation because according to FAA we only have 5 minutes to put out the fire and landed in 10 minutes.

LOST FLIGHT SCREEN
PASSENGER NOT FEELING WELL
LOST DUAL TRUST FAILURE

A

In my opinion, among the three situations,-

The easiest event to deal with is passenger not feeling well, because the pilot can return to the airport and provide assistance to the passenger withdout more problem.

As far as I know (broadly speaking)
lost flight screen is worse than passenger not feeling well event to deal with, because the all information necessary for a flight shows on flight screen, the pilot just only with standby emergency instruments to navigation, compromising the flight safety.

The last but not least, among the three situation, lost dual trust failure is the most difficult event to deal with, because the pilot lost both engine, they have not power to continue the flight. This is a Mayday event.

Q

SMALL ELEVATOR PROBLEM
JAMMED LANDING GEAR
BAD WEATHER

A

In my opinion among three situation

The easiest event to deal with is bad weather, because is the normal procedure the pilot using the weather radar to avoid a CB on flight path and evade further problems.

As far as I know,
Small elevator is worst than bad weather event to deal with, because the problem can cause serious risk like deep landing, flare, runway overrun or a ground collision.

The last but not least, among the three situation, jammed landing gear is the most difficult event to deal with, because the pilot perform a belly landing procedure also can cause a structural damage on the aircraft could cause a passenger injuries

UNRELIABLE AIRSPEED INDICATION
CAPTAIN INCAPACITATION (Unconscious)
FIRE IN THE COMPARTMENT ( HOLD )

A

In my opinion among the three situation,

The easiest event to deal with is unrideable airspeed indication, because the pilot carry out the flight without problem and run the check list also landing as soon as possible

Broadly speaking
Captain incapacitation is worst than unrideable airspeed indication event to deal whit, because is a urgency situation that the firs officer request immediate land.

Last but not least, among the three situation, fire in the compartment is the most difficult event to deal with, it´s a May Day situation because according to FAA we only have 5 minutes to put out the fire and landed in 10 minutes.

LOSS OF NOSE WELL STEERING
CARGO SMOKE INDICATION
CRACKED OUTER PANE OF WINDOW IN THE CABIN

A

In my opinion among the three situation,

The easiest event to deal with is
Cracked outer pane of window in the cabin
because the pilot carry on the flight a low altutute without problem and run the check list also landing as soon as possible

Broadly speaking
Loss of nose well beforeng
is worst than a cracked outer pane of window in the cabin, event to deal with, because, can cause a RWY excursion or
RWY veer off.

Last but not least, among the three situations, cargo smoke indication is the most difficult event to deal with, it´s a May Day situation because according to the FAA, we only had 5 minutes to put out the fire and land in 10 minutes.

Q

BAD WEATHER - SEVERE STORM
AUTO PILOT FAILURE
LIGHTING BOLT

A

In my opinion among the three situation,

The easiest event to deal with is
AUTO PILOT FAILURE
because the pilot carry on the flight whit auto pilot disengage. To prevent this event, the aircraft undergo a better maintenance or a contestants checks.

Broadly speaking about
BAD WEATHER - SEVERE STORM can be dangerous, because the pilot could lose the control the aircraft, suffered a wind shear on the land procedure can caused a structural damage. In order to prevent this event, the pilot must perform a better flight planning, analyze the weather forecasting conditions before each flight.

Last but not least,
LIGHTING BOLT
is the most dangerous situation to deal with, because the pilot can lose the navigation system, he could have an electrical fire in the cockpit moreover fumes on boarding. To prevent this, the pilot must high situation awareness also perform a deviating the CB or cancel the flight.

STEERING MALFUNCTION
FLAP ASYMMETRY
BOMB THEAT ONBOARD

A

In my opinion among the three situation,

The easiest event to deal with is
Steering malfunction because the pilot is on the ground and he can just stop the airplane and evacuate without any real danger

Broadly speaking
Flap asymmetry is dangerous, because the pilot might lose control during climb, but pilots are well trained to deal with this problem.

Last but not least, among the three situations, most dangerous situation to handle is the bomb threat onboard, because if the bomb explodes, there’s not much to do, even with the procedures it’s a very hard situation to manage during flight.

HOT AIR BALLOON
ENGINE OVERHEAT
LANDING GEAR MALFUNCTION

A

In my opinion among the three situation,

The easiest event to deal with is
HOT AIR BALLOON on the flight path because the pilot just had to deviate from the balloon in order to maintain a safe operation.

As far as I know / Broadly speaking
ENGINE OVERHEAT WHILE TAXING is dangerous, because it could lead to an engine fire and the pilot would have to evacuate the airplane

Last but not least, among the three situations, most dangerous situation to handle is landing gear malfunction because the pilot might need to perform a belly landing, which is a very delicate procedure.

Q

REJECTED TAKEOFF DUE TO AN OPEN DOOR INDICATION

ALTIMETER UNRELIABLE INDICATION

FIRE IN THE COCKPIT

A

In my opinion among the three situation,

The easiest event to deal with
REJECTED TAKEOFF DUE TO AN OPEN DOOR INDICATION
because the pilot is on the ground in addition pilot’s have extensive training on simulators and it’s a relatively simple procedure to execute.

Broadly speaking / as far as I know
ALTIMETER UNRELIABLE INDICATION can be dangerous depending on some aspects of the flight, like weather condition, terrain, communication
However, this pilot had established communication with ATC and was flying under visual conditions.

The last but not least, among the three situation FIRE IN THE COCKPIT is the
most dangerous event to deal with, it´s a MayDay situation, according to NTSB we only have 5 minutes to put out the fire and landed in 10 minutes.
Furthermore pilots could lose an important instrument, or indication, visibility would be affected, the workload would severely increase and smoke could escalate and become a fire very rapidly, I believe smoke in the cockpit is one of the most challenging things for pilots.

Q

PAN PAN LOST ENGINE NUMBER 1
PAN PAN LOST ALL ELETRUCSL SYSTEM
LOST RADAR CONTACT

A

WELL IN MY OPINION AMONG THE THREE SITUATIONS

THE EASIEST EVENT TO DEAL WITH IS LOST RADAR CONTACT, THE PILOT CARRY ON THE FLIGHT UNDER VISUAL CONDITIONS, TO PREVENT THIS SITUATION THE AIRCRAFT HAS A STANDBY TRANSPONDER.

BROADLY SPEAKING ABOUT LOST ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
THIS EVENT IS DIFFICULT TO HANDLE BECAUSE THE PILOT COULD HAVE UNEXPECTED SITUATIONS SUCH ASS, LANDING GERAR PROBLEM, FLAP FAILURE, LOSs OF NAVIGATION SYSTEM. TO PREVENT THIS THE AIRCRAFT UNDERGO A THOROUGH MAINTENANCE IN ADDITON THE PILOT PERFORMING A BETTER PREFLIGT INSPECTION.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THE HARDEST SITUATION TO COUP WITH AMONG THE THREE SITUATIONS IS LOST ENGINE NUMBER 1, BECAUSE THE PILOT HAS MANY TASKS DURING THE EMERCEGENCY, SUCH ASS CONFIGURATE THE AIPLANE RUN THE CHECKLIST INFORMING ATC ABOUT THE PROBLEM. IN ORDER TO PREVENT THIS, THE AIRCRAFT UNDERGO BETTER MAINTENANCE.

THIS IS HOW I COMPARE THESE 3 SITUATIONS IN TERMS OF SEVERITY
