Q

Preparation and planting of the site for bedding displays and annuals

A

Assuming basic prep has been done a good tilth is needed 0.5-3mm
Achieved by raking to break up the soil
Removing weeds and large stones as you go.
Firming the soil with back of the rake
Rake again in opposite direction and firm again - keep going until required tilth achieved.
Water bed if dry
Use sand to mark out where you want your drifts of plants
Sow in drills to make maintenance easier
Thin out seedlings according to instructions on packet.
