Uncertainties Flashcards
0
Q
Systematic Uncertainties
A
Uncertainties mainly due to incorrectly calibrated instruments. They cannot be reduced by repeated measurements.
1
Q
Random Uncertainties
A
Uncertainties due to the inexperience of the experimenter and the difficulty of reading instruments. They can be reduced by repeated measurements and taking an average of the measurements.
2
Q
Accurate measurements
A
Measurements that have a small systematic error.
3
Q
Precise measurements
A
Measurements that have a small random error.
