What is Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)?
A
An auto immune disease that causes chronic inflammation of the joints

A
- inflammatory changes in joint, tendon, sheath
- Results in pain, weakness, dysfunction

What is the clinical presentation of RA? (6)
A
- morning stiffness lasting at least an hour
- swelling of 3+ joints
- symmetrical joint swelling
- Erosions on x-ray of the hand
- rheumatoid nodules
- rheumatoid factor abnormal
