-reduces loss of countryside
-helps revive old and disused urban areas
-services such as water/gas/sewage are already in place
-located nearer urban areas
Disadvantages of Brownfield?
-often more expensive as they have to clear old buildings
-land has to be cleared of pollutants
-sometimes surrounded by rundown areas
