UE neurology Flashcards
radial nerve and median nerve both do the same function to the thumb. What is it?
abduct
what do the dorsal/palmar interossei do and the lumbricals?
flex metacarpophalangeal jt, extend PIP and DIP
Ape’s hand is what? what nerve?
median nerve (problem at wrist) - can't abduct thumb
Benedict’s hand is what? what nerve?
median nerve (problem at elbow) - can't flex 2nd and 3rd finger
wrist drop is what? what nerve?
radial nerve
- extensors don’t work
claw hand is what? what nerve?
ulnar nerve
- extension of MCP jt of 4th and 5th digits, flexion of PIP jts there
flexor pollicis longus m is innervated by what nerve?
anterior interosseous nerve
flexor pollicis brevis is innervated by what?
ulnar nerve (medial side) and median nerve (lateral side)
radial nerve innervates what skin?
posterior arm, inferior lateral arm, posterior forearm
median nerve innervates what skin?
palm (palmar cutaneous branch median nerve)
ulnar nerve innervates what skin?
dorsal arm, palm (dorsal cutaneous branch ulnar nerve, palmar cutaneous branch ulnar nerve)
what nerve supinates arm?
deep radial
what two muscles does deep radial nerve go to?
extensor carpi radialis brevis and supinator muscle
what are the last two muscles that the radial nerve goes to?
brachioradialis, extensor carpi radialis longus
flexor carpi ulnaris and extensor carpi ulnaris share one same function, which is?
adduct wrist
