Q
2) How do you ensure you remain aware and knowledgeable about new skills or concepts?
A
- Firstly I am deeply committed to self-improvement and I approach gaining knowledge and skills as a hobby rather than a task.
- For Financial news, I consume trusted and reliable sources (Financial Times) as it’s essential to be aware of what is going on in the financial world.
- Particularly enthusiastic about Fintech and the transformative potential it has in revolutionising the financial system
- To keep up to date I follow Fintech today aswell as forums and networking groups which discuss this project
- In terms of skill development I place great emphasis on receiving feedback from others aswell as developing my communication skills
- To develop these I like to be very self-aware aswell as ask for feedback from others to be able to identify what I can improve on.
- In terms of communication, I think developing this skill is essential and I do this by seeking resources such as online courses, videos and podcasts that I like to actively learn from.
- Overall, this approach ensures I stay up to date with both the present in Finance and also be aware of future technologies, and at the same time improving my soft skills and continuously developing.

- Maintaining self-motivation in the face of a setback is a crucial skill and I learned this during a significant challenge in my life.
- The situation was 3 days prior to my exam……… surgery
- The task at hand was to maintain self-motivation, successfully recover and be in a position where I was able to perform the best I could in a few day’s time.
- The actions I took to maintain self-motivation and ensure I was successful were:

- Reached out to my network of help
- Adapted to the change and adapted my study routine
- This resulted in me being able to complete my A-level maths…….
- During this I learned the following lessons
- First: Priorising health
- Importance of preparation and planning
- Approaching unexpected events with courage
