Tell me about a time when you had to meet a tight deadline. How did you prioritize your tasks, and what was the outcome?

A

Situation: During the end of my third year of university i had to complete my dissertation whilst also studying for my examsn and organising an event for the albanian society

Action: I prioritized my tasks by breaking them down into manageable steps, focusing on the most critical aspects first. I allocated time to the things which were most important and organised the albanian society events during the time i saw as rest at home.

Result: Despite the tight deadline, I successfully was able to complete my disseration whilst staying ontop of my studies and at the same time running a succesful social event for my company.

Give an example of a project where you had to work collaboratively with a diverse team. How did you handle different perspectives, and what was the result?

A

Situation: Complete a group project to a high standard during online university and other students being from all over the world and not all from economic disciplines.

Task: The task was to provide a research paper studying the effects on economic growth on mortality

Action: Communicated well with each other well in advance in order to find a time which suited all our different time zones, we then allocated different responsibilities to people who we thought were best suited to a role in order to leveraeg eachothers expertese.

Result: Our collaborative efforts led to a high quality report by using different perspective from a diverse team we were able to create an enviroment where everyone learnt from eachother and produce high quality work.

Can you provide an example of a challenging problem you encountered at work or in your studies? How did you analyze the problem and find a solution?

A

Situation: 3 days before my A-Level Maths Exam I had to have an emergency operation to take out my appendix.

Task: Be able to succesfuly recover from an operation and go complete my A-Level Maths exam

Action: Mental preparation: Remembering that we had prepared all year for this and that this operation would not be the reason for us to not succed.
Focusing on high yield material: Things such as past papers
Remaining calm and looking after myself to ensure I could perform the best sometimes its better to make sure ur in a healthy state to deliver rather then do extra work.

Result: This led to me attaning an A in A level maths through determnation and keeping myself calm allowing me to pursue an economics degree at Warwick.

A

Situation: During my time as the founder of the Albanian Society at the University of Warwick, I took the lead in organizing a significant social event.

Task: The task involved coordinating all aspects of the event, including logistics, promotion, and ensuring a successful turnout.

Action: I formed a dedicated team, delegated responsibilities, and set clear goals. We organized regular meetings to track progress, address challenges, and make necessary adjustments.

Result: The event was a resounding success, with over 200 attendees, demonstrating my leadership abilities and organizational skills.

A

Situation: While working as a Floor Supervisor at Pergola Paddington, I encountered a particularly demanding customer who was shouting at me and showing signs of aggresion.

Task: My task was to ensure a high-quality service experience for all customers, even in challenging situations.

Action: I maintained a calm head and actively listened to the customer’s concerns, and empathetically addressed their needs. I ensured we came up with a solution which ensured both parties were satisfied.

Result: The customer left satisfied, and I received a compliment from managers for my ability to handle demanding situations effectively, contributing to the restaurant’s reputation for exceptional service.

A

Situation: During my internship at Ernst & Young, I worked on a project that involved analysing data.

Task: My task was to review and analyze financial statements using Excel, where precision was crucial to ensure the accuracy of financial ratios and reports.

Action: I carefully reviewed every aspect of the financial data, double-checking calculations and formulas. I used Excel’s built-in functions to enhance accuracy and also made sure to give to my collagues to also look at.

Result: The project’s success relied on the accuracy of the financial analysis. My attention to detail ensured that the reports were error-free, contributing to informed decision-making.

A

Situation: Organising a large social event for the Albanian society events at Warwick

Task: Ensure the event ran smoothly and sort out a venue, advertising, music aswell as ensure the event ran smoothly

Action: Dividing into each groups and giving each group a section that they were responsible for, then I ensured communication and meetings every 2 days to ensure each team had a target to reach

Result: This led to us running a memorable event allowing lots of students to have fun and get to know each other and overall was a successful event.

S: During my time at EY we had to communicate financial solutions to a client

T: We had to analyse financial statements and present solutions and recommendations to the client/

A:
Tailored communication: I was aware the client liked diagrams and therefore we tailored the presentation to explain the information visually

Avoided jargon and technical terms we thought the client would not be aware of.

Encouraged engagement and an environment where the client was able to ask anything.

Result: Client was able to understand our analysis and was happy with the recommendation resulting into them becoming more confident in their ability to make informed decisions regarding their financial future.

A

Situation: During my second year I decided to take an advanced econometrics course that required good profficency with Python which I had little knowledge of.

Task: My task was to quickly learn the relevant aspects of Python programming to ensure I could complete modules and assigments to a high standard.

Action:
Inital assesment of what I can do and then utilised online resources after asking my proffesors about the key areas I should brush up my knowledge in, after this I worked on daily practicing in order to solidifiy my understanding and finally I seeked help when I was unable to understand something.

Result: I caught my Python knowledge and also increased my confidence in being able to learn new things quickly.
