Why is there so much food insecurity?

The impacts of food insecurities -
Children’s development will suffer
Food shortage = Increasing prices
People trying to grow their own food = worn out
How does food insecurity link to poverty?
Children don’t go to school
Can’t afford to buy enough food
Children are starving
Children are more likely to get ill
Children can’t go to school
Children don’t get their qualifications
Children are unable to get paid well jobs
How is food insecurity linked to water?
If there is lack of water farmers won’t be able to irrigate their land and may struggle to grow healthy crops
How is food insecurity linked to soil?
Good grows grow from rich soil. If farmers are unable to afford fertiliser yields may be poor leading to none or poor crops
How is food insecurity linked to crops pests?
In places where farmers can’t afford pesticides it is common for crops to be destroyed
How is food insecurity linked to roads?
If there are poor roads it will be hard to transport food to the market.
How is food insecurity linked to conflicts?
When there is conflict roads may be blocked so food cannot be transported.
