What is a devolved matter
-a power that has been transferred from UK Parliament that the Scottish Parliament is now responsible for

Describe the devolved matter ‘health’
-this means that Scottish Parliament are responsible for the provision of health care services and building for NHS
Describe the devolved matter ‘education’
-this means that the Scottish Parliament has control of the education system for nurseries, schools, colleges and universities in Scotland

-this means that the Scottish Parliament is responsible for protecting the environment in Scotland

-the Scottish Government cancelled exams in Scotland due to COVID in 2020

-the Scottish Government made prescriptions free for everyone in Scotland

-powers that are kept to the control of the UK Parliament

-this means that the UK Government decides how much money to spend on military, how much personnel to recruit and how troops are deployed
Describe the reserved matter ‘foreign affairs’
-this means that it’s now the responsibility of the UK Government to negotiate new trade deal with countries world wide following brexit
