Compulsory signs
Compulsory signs tell you what you must or must not do.

This is an open road sign. It means 100km/h is the fasted speed you can drive in good conditions. You’ll see them on some rural roads.
Advisory speed signs
Advisory speed signs warn you that you’re coming up to speed bumps or a curve in the road. They give you advice about a safe speed to drive at.
Advisory speed signs have black numbers on a yellow background.
When you see an incident or emergency warning sign, y.ou must slow down to 20 km/h, even though there’s no compulsory speed limit sign.
You must slow down to 20 km/h before you reach the sign. You cannot speed up again until you’re clear of the incident or emergency.
