the skill is broken dow into subroutines and a particular part is practiced.

progressive part
aka chaining. each subroutine is practised separately before chaining them together and adding more links
varied practice
practice done in an unpredictable and changing environment to help a performers decison making
fixed practice
practice done in a stable and predictable environment to allow focus on technique.
massed practice
continuous practice session. good for gross skills to build muscle and delay fatigue.
distrubuted practice
practice session that involves rest intervals which could be used for feedback or tasks unrelated to the session
