A mixture where one type of substance (it’s particles) are evenly spread throughout another substance and cannot be seen.
What is a colloid?
A mixture formed when particles of one substance are spread evenly throughout another, but appear to be a single substance

Petrol, saltwater, cordial, carbonated water
Examples of a colloid are:
Bread, jelly, clouds, cream
What are the types of colloids ?
Solid-liquid. eg. Cheese, butter
Liquid-gas. eg. Fog, clouds
Solid-gas. eg. Marshmallows, pavlova
Liquid-liquid. eg. mayonnaise, milk

- An emulsion is a type of colloid in which tiny droplets of one liquid are spread evenly throughout another liquid. eg. Oil in water
