Q

supporting evidence

A
  • Tulving et al = when Ps thought of different kinds of memories, different areas of the brain were active
  • HM = could improve procedural memory of tracing a star while looking in reflection, shows that he could form procedural memory, BUT couldn’t remember ever doing it before demonstrating different types of LTM
  • Clive Wearing = procedural memory intact but episodic and semantic severely impaired

Q

limitations of types of LTM

A
  • supporting research is mostly case studies/idiographic and so can’t generalise to wider population - lacks population validity
