Types of Informatics Terms Part 1 Flashcards
Incorporates a core set of methodologies that are applicable for managing data, information, and knowledge, across the translational medicine continuum, from bench biology to clinical care and research to public health
Biomedical Informatics
Focused on information systems to ensure that they support patient care that is safe, efficient, effective, timely, patient-centered and equitable. Also, the scientific study of patient care, clinical research, and medical education and the effective use of information to support these activities, establish standards, and set policy
Clinical Informatics
The focus on the interest of the consumer. A goal to support and inform consumers to facilitate the management and participation in their own care.
Consumer Informatics
Where the practice of nursing intersects with computers and information science. At the basic level, it is using technology to improve patient care. The more advanced level is with the nurse scholar conducting research to validate practice and identity means to improving nursing practice to achieve enhanced outcomes and greater patient satisfaction.
Nursing informatics
Both the information and data parts as well as the controlling and automatic nature of data processing itself. Deals with the patient/provider experience.
Medical Informatics
The field of information science concerned with the management of all aspects of health data and information through the application of computers and computer technologies
Health Informatics
