Ontario Health Insurance Plan- covers medically necessary services for Ontario youth (0-24) who aren’t already covered by a private plan.
holistic healthcare
An approach to care for patients that addresses the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual components of health
public healthcare
Government system that covers all medically necessary services funded by taxation of people during their working life
private healthcare
Medical services NOT provided for by the government; direct payment from patient to organization
hybrid healthcare
A system that mixes public-private healthcare; private healthcare if you choose to get it (generally better equipment, services, expensive, etc.) and public healthcare if you choose to get it (generalized services, longer waiting times, free, etc.)
universal healthcare
Any Canadian Citizen or PR resident is eligible for access to public healthcare insurance/healthcare in general
Provides healthcare coverage to high number of citizens
socialized medicine
a healthcare system in which the government owns and operates healthcare facilities and employs the healthcare professionals, thus also paying for all healthcare services.

Basic health care services, like hospital visits and medical treatment, are free FOR ALL CITIZENS
