Conformity occurs when a person adopts the attitudes, behaviours and beliefs of a group in response to real or imagined pressure.

A
  • When a person genuinely accepts group pressure
  • Private + Public change
  • Permanent change because attitudes become a part of personal beliefs.

  • When indivisuals conform to opinions and behaviours of group because there is something in a group they VALUE.
  • Publically agree but privately dont
