Compliance
When a person publicly agrees with their behaviour and beliefs of a social group in order to avoid confrontation but privately does not conform or internalise its beliefs
Identification
When a person publicly agrees with the behaviour or the beliefs of a social group because they see an aspect of the group that they identify with and have the desire to be a part of the group or accepted into the group the person may not privately agree with the behaviour or beliefs of the group however they may internalise it
Internalisation
When a person performs to the behaviour and the beliefs of a social group both in front of the social group and in privacy they are said to have internalised the beliefs of the group
