What is the purpose of Platelets?
Platelets and fibrin helps the blood clots so in an accidental injury, platelets stops blood leaking out quickly.
They have no nucleus or colour
White Blood Cells
Engulfs and destroy many bacterials, fungi and viruses (but not all)
They form our immune system and protects us from developing infections
Type of White Blood Cells
Neutrophils (Neutrocytes) are the most common type of white blood cells, in humans. They form an essential part of the innate immune system.
Red Blood Cells
These offer a large surface area as they are disc like in shape.
They contain haemoglobin, an iron rich protein that is responsible for assisting the transportation of oxygen to all cells.
Red blood cells are made inside your bones, in the bone marrow. They typically live for about 120 days, and then they die.

Plasma is a liquid that the blood cells are floating in and the ‘fluid’ given by paramedics to try and bring blood pressure up in an accident
