What is the first stage of the strange situation
Exploration, the baby enters the room with the mother and is left to explore
What is the second stage of the strange situation
The stranger enters, the stranger then talks and engages with the mother
What is the third stage of the strange situation
The stranger interacts, they lean forward and tries to engage with the infant.
What is the fourth stage of the strange situation
The mother leaves, the mother leaves and then the baby is alone with the stranger and the stranger tries to comfort the infant and play with them. this helps to test stranger distress and separation anxiety
