A set of norms, traditions, beliefs and values shared by a large group of people.
What is an individualist culture, give an example
They emphasise independence, individuality and autonomy at the expense of group goals, UK (capitalism)
Collectivist cult=ure
This is where theres an emphasis on group membership, interdependence and cooperation.
What are cultural variations
These are differences in norms and values that exist between cultures. in attached we are concerned with the difference in proportion of children for different attachment types.

Outline Ijzeendoorn and Kroonenberg’s (1988) study on cultural variations
Conducted a meta-analysis for inter-cultural differences and intra-cultural differences. The study looked at nearly 2000 children who has been assessed via the strange situation from eight different countries
