When the performer practices the skill in its entirety.

Breaking the skill down into subroutines and teaching it one subroutine at a time.

Practicing the Skill in its entirety before breaking it down into subroutines, before practicing it in its entirety again.

Practice starting with one subroutine before practicing with the First and Second Subroutine combined and so on.

Practicing a skill in a single, lengthy session with minimal or no breaks.
What is Distributed Practice?
Breaking up practice session into multiple, shorter sessions with rest in between.
What is Fixed Practice?
Repeatedly Practicing a skill in a stable, unchanging and predictable environment.
What is Varied Practice?
Practicing a Skill in a variety of different contexts and scenarios in an unpredictable way.
