You believe there is an effect but there is NOT.

You don’t believe there is an effect but there IS.

Null hypothesis is incorrectly rejected in favor of alternate hypothesis.
What happens with the null hypothesis in a type II error?
Null hypothesis is not rejected when it is in fact false.
What is the Null H0?
Hypothesis of no difference or relationship (e.g., there is no association between the disease and the risk factor in the population)
What is the Alternative (H1)?
Hypothesis of some difference or relationship (e.g., there is some association between the disease and the risk factor in the population)
