Al-Athir was a Muslim historian; the un-named crusader fought in the capture of Jerusalem

Al-Athir- researched the battle because he thought the world should hear the Muslim view of the capture of Jerusalem, written more than a century after the battle (battle took place in 1099)
Un-named crusader- fought in the battle for guarantee to heaven/land in 1099
