What do you do during this stage?
TIP
- before trying in the patient’s mouth, look at how the casts with the denture articulate
- check the teeth are secure in the denture to ensure they don’t fall out in the patient’s mouth
- remember to disinfect in a perform bath + rinse before putting in patient’s mouth
- don’t leave try in model in mouth for too long as mouth is warm hence can lead to wax distortion
Why is it important to ensure that the rests are engaged and the rest seats are sitting correctly?

If there’s FES:
- For upper if replacing molars + premolars:
- use foxes occlusal guide plane, to check the occlusal plane is parallel to the eye level + ala tragal line
*For lower:
- check the lower occlusal plane in relation to he tongue + retromolar pad
While checking jaw relation, what do you need to look at?

- need to retake jaw relationship again
- adjust occlusal rim levels
- then record jaw reg
- ask lab to rearticulate lower and upper teeth + reset teeth
While checking appearance, what do you need to check? / problems you may have with appearance?
- remember to put in perform bath before sending to lab
- if a specific shade is required for the flange, use the flange shade guide for patient + put this on the prescription card
