Patient diagnosed with hypertension –> “I will switch from lifting weights to do aerobics”

A

Regular aerobic exercises are usually recommended / Isotonic exercises such as lifting weights and rowing are contraindicated because they can cause a dangerous rise in blood pressure due to a vasovagal response during intense isotonic muscle contraction / Antihypertensive (and diuretics) can facilitate HYPOtension

Q

Med Math

A

Facts: (1) 40 drops of IV fluid/minute (2) Drop factor of 60 drops per mL. Question: how many hours will it take for the nurse to infuse 400mL? –> Drips per minute equals mL per hour. 400/40 = 10 hours.
