what is the treatment for the continuation phase which is the 4 months after the first 2?
rifampicin or isoniazid
what can be used for latent TB treatment ?
-3 months of rifampicin + isoniazid or 6 months of isoniazid
what needs to be checked before treatment for TB?
-Patients with latent TB aged 35-65 YEARS SHOULD BE CLEARED OF HEPATOTOXICITY

-peripheral neuropathy =give prophylactic pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamins B6)

yes 3 out of the 4 TB drugs are
what is counselling for ethambutol?
can cause visual impairment + ocular toxicity
how long is treatment for TB?
6 MONTHS UNLESS LATENT AND IT CAN BE 3 MONTHS WITH USE OF 2 DRUGS
