Any time flaps 18 is used.

137
Q

What five things MUST be considered when accepting route deviations in Mountainous Terrain?

A

Verify all sector MORA’s on the associated H or L chart concerning the clearance.
Verify the current aircraft weight.
Verify that the aircraft will not drift down below the clearances affected MORA’s in a worst case scenario according to the drift down table for the aircraft’s weight (you may be in icing conditions).
Verify that you will not violate any aircraft limitation: One Engine, One Bleed, Ice On = 15,000’.
Continuously monitor the aircraft’s weight and drift down performance while off route on the clearance.

138
Q

What is M2METW?

A

Method 2 Maximum Enroute Takeoff WeightThis guarantees you to clear all obstructions and terrain for that particular route by 2,000’ vertically for five (5) statue miles either side of your planned route only. And a positive slope of 1,500’ above the airport.

139
Q

What is M1METW

A

Method 1 Maximum Enroute Takeoff WeightThis guarantees you to clear all obstructions and terrain for that particular route by 1,000’ vertically for five (5) statue miles either side of your planned route only. And a positive slope of 1,500’ above the airport.

140
Q

When does M1METW and M2METW assume engine failure?

A

M1 at V1.

M2 at most critical point enroute.

141
Q

What is a Pre-Takeoff check?

A

Done by the pilots either outside the aircraft or from the cockpit during holdover time, to ensure the aircraft is free of contamination.

142
Q

What is a Pre-Takeoff Contamination check?

A

Done by authorized personal when the holdover time has been exceed. If the aircraft is free of contamination the takeoff roll must be initiated within 5 min. Otherwise de-ice/anti-ice must be accomplished.
