Pectoralis major
Prime mover of arm flexion. Medially rotates and adducts arm.
Pectoralis minor
With ribs flexed, draws scapula forward and downward.
Serratus anterior
Rotates scapula so that its inferior angle moves upwards and laterally.
Intercostals: inner
Draws ribs together, depressing the rib cage.
Intercostals: external
Pulls ribs together, elevating the rib cage
External/internal oblique
Flex the vertebral column and compress abdominal wall. Also aid back muscles in rotating and flexing laterally.
Transversus abdominis
Compress abdominal contents
Rectus abdominis
Flexes and rotates the lumbar region of the vertebral column.
Subcapularis
Chief medial rotator of humerus.
Trapezius
Stabilizes, rotates, raises, and retracts scapula.
