Flexes elbow joint and supinates forearm.
Think of bicep curl motion
Triceps brachii
Powerful forearm extensor.
Super down bow
Brachialis
A major forearm flexor.
Branching muscle on either side of bicep brachii
Brachioralialis
Synergistic with bicep brachii in flexing forearm.
In lower arm, at top of forearm
Pronator teres
Pronates forearm.
Below brachioradialis
Palmaris longus
Tenses skin and fascia of palm during hand movements.
In forearm
Flexor carpi radialis
Powerful flexor of wrist. Abducts wrist.
The middle one.
Flexor digitorum superficialis
Flexes wrist and middle phalanges of fingers 2-5.
Big muscle, middle layer deep
Extensor carpi radialis longus
Extends and abducts wrist.
Connects past the elbow
Extensor carpi radialis brevis
Extends and abducts wrist.
Connects closer to the elbow. Before “ “ longus
Flexor carpi ulnaris
Powerful flexor of the wrist. Also adducts hand.
Outmost stringey muscle
Deltoid
Prime mover of arm abduction when all its fibers contract simultaneously.
(Shoulder part of arm)
Extensor digitorum
Prime mover of finger extension.
On the topical side of the arm. Connects to the fingers through the back of the hand
Extensor carpi ulnaris
Extends and adducts wrist.
On the topical side of the forearm, right of the extensor digitorum
