The USA and Truman believed that the soviets were trying to spread communism around the world.
America wanted to pressurise the soviets because they had better weapons and would easily beat them in conflict.
Greece, after the germans left it was the royalists with britain on their side vs the soviets, the british were funding the royalists to keep off communism but when britain couldn’t afford it anymore America gave them 400billion dollars to help them keep off communism
What was the truman doctrine?
It was when truman made a speech that said that we should “resist being slaved by armed minority” this meant that they should try to contain communism and not let it spread. This meant that he would help any country that was threatened by communism. He is saying to Stalin ‘you have expanded enough and if you go any further i will stop you’
