Trigonometry Flashcards
What is Pythagoras theorem for calculating shorter sides?
A squared = C squared - B squared
What is Pythagoras theorem?
A squared + B squared = C squared
What are the labels of a triangle?
The Hypotenuse side is the longest side opposite the right angle.
The opposite side is directly across from the triangles marked angle.
The adjacent side is next to the marked angle.
What is the formula Sin?
We use the sin formula to find the opposite side or the hypotenuse side of the triangle.
Sin(-)= o/h
What is the cos formula?
We use the Cos formula to find that adjacent side or the hypotenuse side of the triangle.
Cos (-)= a/h
What is the tan formula?
We use the tan formula to find the opposite side or the adjacent side of the triangle.
Tan(-)= o/a
How do I find the angle of a right angles triangle?
We can find any angle of a right angled triangle if we know the length of any two sides. Use that inverse button then sin, cos or tan and this will show them as sin-1, cos-1 or tan-1
What is the rule for angles on a straight line?
Angles on a straight line add to 180 degrees
What is the rule for angles at a point?
Angles at a point add to 360 degrees
What is the rule for vert. Opp angles?
Vert. Opp angles are equal
What is the rule for right angles?
Right angles are 90 degrees
What are acute angles?
Angles less than 90 degrees
What are the rules Obtuse angles?
Angles greater than 90 degrees
