  • Millions of men + horses, life.
  • hot,dusty and smelly

A
  • Intricate and later evolved to have tanks and machine guns.
  • rain? Flood=trench foot
  • Separated by nomans land
  • Protection from snipers, artillery attacks etc
  • Barnes wire in front

  • The BEF had major Casual. And the FRENCH had APPROX 1 MILLION dead/wounded within 10 WEEKS.
  • Lots of troops were dug into trenches that stretched sea=> alps

2) B stops=> over the top. Race against defen. WHO CAN SET MACHINE GUNS FASTER?
3)Defenders norm. Have pro= sweep em with MG fire or crossF.
4) Go through? HOLD THEM.
Generally imposs coz forced back.
